We need a bit of pace at the back to cope with their movement from midfield and at the front so I would recall Sanchez. Verts to switch to left back and Winks to come in for Dele.

Vorm
Tripper, Sanchez, Toby, Verts
Dembele, Winks,Dier
Eriksen
Kane,Lucas

Prediction hard fought 2-2 coming from behind.

He likely would have gone with 3 at the back anyway for this which would have made Lucas the odd man out. Dele out means Lucas starts in his place.
Lucas would have started in the same role Son had in this fixture last season and that was with us deploying 3 at the back.

Central midfield is a huge concern here.

Will surprised if we don't go three at the back. The rest can be as Poch sees fit. However, against an action side like the scousers the timing of the subs will be all important....probably on the hour not last ten:cautious:

I’m basing it on the fact that Dier played midweek, Wanyama has had two weeks off.
Wanyama has been injured and you wanna throw him in in this game? Did we learn nothing from last season where he was injured in the summer and rushed back to start vs...fucking Burnley and guess what? Shockingly, he got re injured! Lets take it slow with Wanyama this season, shall we?

Worth taking into account with the Wanyama/Dier decision that Wanyama has had 2 weeks with Poch and we have a game at the San Siro Tuesday so maybe he might put Wanyama in for the game Saturday with one eye on that game. With that being said I do expect Dier.

Dier will start both. These are not the games you throw Wanyama in to when hasnt been in form for a year and a half thanks to injuries
