I still can't see us paying out 45m for him just won't happen imo.
That is a fair point but then if you adjust for football inflation then I couldnt see us do these deals
£100k a week for Adebayor in 2012
£26m for 28yo Soldado in 2013
£30m for Lamela in 2013
£30m for Sissoko in 2016(his wages are high as well)

We are a in tough place, we risk stagnating and losing our best players if we dont make progress due to wages or we have to increase our expenditure and put more risk on the business whilst building a stadium in order to improve our team

It's a difficult one to balance but with so much money in the game now I really can't see why the boat couldn't be pushed out a bit.
Yes the stadium has to be built but I can't envisage any problems securing finance on this, currently I think that the whole of the EPL are in the top 50 wealthy teams due to TV payments.
We are an established PL club who compete at the highest of the table so our income is greater than many others, it's a tough one for levy as his default setting is to save not spend imo.

History has proved so many times recently that you can't judge a young foreign player in the EPL after one season. It's not fair, especially when he hardly played.

One or two players might be able for it but that doesn't mean the rest are bad. This is his first proper season as far as I'm concerned.

Stick.

I don't know, I mean, is giving a young player only his second season with us and in the Premier League really just simply 'showing compassion'? I'd like to think not really, you only have to look at Lamela as an example of it being wrong to strike a player off too early.

Only thing I would say is that I wouldn't argue with someone who says we need more capable back up to Kane and that would put Janssen further down the pecking order and that would leave you wondering where how much he would feature.

I would hope that this pre-season, Pochettino would have had a quiet word in Vincent's ear and given him as much encouragement as is necessary to play with much more freedom and belief next season. If he's been working hard in training,I don't think the boss will be kicking him out, at least not until the next window.

What’s the situation now ? Has to be a better option than Llorente at least he can run around.

I hope we sell Llorente and give VJ another go. At least he puts himself about. We don't even cross the fucking ball when Llorente plays. And by "plays", I mean stands.

I'd love to see him get a proper crack. But MoPo left him out of the US tour, so I don't think Vinny will get it. Loaned / sold to any viable taker in the next 3 weeks. Also don't think he has a squad number, usually a telling sign.

Pochetino seems to have something against Janssen... doubt he will be an option for us.

He may have been left out as Pochettino thought he was getting the martial type player. He may now reconsider. I can’t think of a single argument to suggest Llorente is a better option than Janssen. Unless Poch just doesn’t like him for some reason.

could play 4-4-2... Nkoudou and Sissoko on the flanks, VJ and Llorente through the middle.

Would leave a decent bench...#depth

Guess he is most likely to leave with need to offload one non-hg, but that could change If there are injuies to our strikeforce. Then it'll be N'Koudou as one with no place on squad.

Twist, won’t make the bench if everyone is fit, don’t have the time to wait to see if becomes good

I can think of one. Llorente has proved he can score goals in the PL. 15 goals season before last.

I don't think either are a great option to be honest for us, but Janssen has proved nothing.

On the flip side, Llorente is on the downward slope imo, and didn't score many last season. Janssen is still young and has the potential to improve.

Stick for me, all day long.

Also till he got injured Janssen was deemed good enough to be the Dutch No 9. There’s got to be something there, still convinced he will start scoring whether it’s for us or someone else.

But that might also explain why Holland are a bit crap now

Doesn't have a great deal of pace, so he'd probably not start against teams where we need to counter attack. But against bus parkers, holding the ball up, playing some of the little one-twos he played when he did get a chance, could be really useful. Actually, the more I think about it, VJ could be useful as the out ball if we are counter attacking. Hell, yeah, stick. Stick him in there, that is.

Doesn't seem to be even training with the first team, not seen any pics of him since the lads returned to training anyway.
