@Hercules has heard that's not the case now and he is back in the fold, so hopefully that's the case.

I have seen a few posters going on about how Chelsea have strengthened this window, that's only going to be the case if they keep all their star players. I'm very sceptical that will be the case.

If Poch has made peace with Toby and Rose, and we hold onto Dembele we will be marginally stronger than last season options wise. Doesn't excuse the failure of the window, but it's not all doom and gloom if we keep everyone.
People need to also factor in the extra 10% our stadium will likely motivate/boost our players.

That place will be a huge shot in the arm.

The South Stand wall, general acoustics, volume of fans.

The buzz will be incredible.

If poch can resist flogging Kane and we have him relatively injury free and he can get his sharpness back properly, we'll have a competitive season.

Bring me a domestic cup and I'm happy.

For me, the stadium is everything and that's what's kept me relaxed through the inevitable shit show window.

Have we had a formation for tomorrow yet?

@Hoopspur Do you not think the new stadium will have a positive effect on our players performances?

Certainly hoping so. I’m also hoping the atmosphere will be as magnificent as hoped/billed. But, and it’s a big butt ( :)), there’s no guarantee of anything. We’ve got a difficult first game there, and I hope we get off to a flyer. The stadium could still be anything. Tomorrow is very important for a lot of things also. I’m hoping, but have watched Spurs for too long to be 100% confident of anything. Pre season nerves I suppose.

Here is the harsh reality: Domestic Cups do not bring in revenue.

League placement - specifically making Champions League, and advancing to the knockout stages in CL, bring in revenue.

Our focus will continue to be on securing top-4, and advancing to the knockout stage of CL.

Given that we did not strengthen squad depth this summer, we will have to luck into a deep Cup run - Poch will not be focused on that and will heavily rotate.

And that’s about it really. Finishing in the top 4 this year has to override any domestic cups, especially given the need to rotate an injury prone midfield. I know fuck all about our youth prospects but I’m praying Poch can get something out of one or two of the midfielders and forwards

no point buying for the sake of it...or to appease fans, that's whats hurt us

Totally agree. But deals were there to be made, I didn’t want Zaha but Poch did and if we brave at the start of the window and thrown 60-70m at Palace, I think we would have got him. Now we risk losing not only the best manager we’ve had in over 30 years but a number of top players, is that worth not over paying 15m on a player?

Realistically we could buy players in January, although difficult. But Grealish could be available for more dosh?

Hmm, I feel the opposite - I fear we won't be better off this season in the new stadium than we were at Wembley, while we feel our way into the place. I think that it will take a season or two before the new stadium feels enough like home to bring a tangible home advantage that yields us extra league points.

I think there'll be some players on the market in January, especially if certain sides drop out of Europe. The likes of Fekir and Pulisic have already been mooted as potential targets for Liverpool in Jan. Ajax may have dropped down too opening up some possibilities.

Arsenal managed to get Aubameyang last time out. We got Lucas.

I'd imagine Grealish stays until the summer now, and they'll let him go if not promoted.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?
