WTF!!!

This has been a pretty common media (and oppo fan) prediction for a few seasons now - happy for them to keep thinking it and to keep proving them wrong! (y)

At the moment I don't know what they are saying, mainly because few people who know me want to converse. However, from experience it is normally better to get opinions from away supporters than our own supporters. Spurs supporters (or any supporters actually) tend to be far to bias, and are ridiculously optimistic. Ask half the supporters on any Spurs site what the results will be for the next ten games and they will predict a win for every game. Supporters of other teams are far more objective. In the good old days when supporters of other clubs were allowed in pubs around the ground I would go out of my way to talk them.

Were 'love' and 'hate' the two main words, with a few choice expletives thrown in? :D

Did anyone happen to listen to TalkSport tonight with Goldstein and Cundy (I know.....)

Anyway, a West Ham fan called Daniel called in and said that for the first time in a long time, West Ham have a superior squad than Spurs... and in particular, a superior bench with cover everywhere. They both said ‘superior? You know that means better don’t you’?

Cundy asked him to name West Ham’s bench and this guy stared stuttering and said ‘erm, well we have Andy Carroll’. Cundy asked who else and this guy literally couldn’t name one apart from ‘the skilful one from Brazil’ (who I assume is a starter anyway....). Then Goldstein asked who’s on Spurs’ bench. The guy tried to change the subject and when they wouldn’t let it go, he was saying things like ‘oof, now you’re asking’ and ‘well you’re putting me on the spot now’. They then said ‘well you said specifically that your bench is superior and that you’ve studied the benches, so we have to ask’. They wouldn’t leave it alone until the guy said ‘you’ve made a real mug of me ain’t ya’ ?

Honestly it was one of the most cringiest and funniest things I’d heard in a long time. Even (most) West Ham fans listening to that would’ve been completely embarrassed. I hate Cundy and I’m not overly keen on Goldstein but they completely schooled him and made him look like a right twat. His admission of failure in the end was a thing of beauty.

Prick.

It's pretty funny. 3rd last season and we literally have the same squad. Even if Toby goes abroad we didn't sell him to a PL team, and Sanchez has proved more than capable of filling his slot.

We only just finished above liverpool. They look like they might be stronger. The last time chelsea tried they won the league. They look like they have strengthened too. Our players have just come back from the world cup and may be fatigued.

It is going to be very tough to get top 4 this year. It would have helped to bring in a cm especially as 3 of ours have injury problems.

Fucking Brexit & Bravery?!

Are all the rest of the fucking clubs not leaving the EU then? They're less brave by not taking risks in the market?

What the actual fuck?

A lot of opponent fans I’ve spoken to seem almost giddy about the fact we haven’t signed anyone. Bizzare really.

Roughly what time was this? I might go back and listen to it, could do with a giggle.

As said, regardless of your perspective on if the Transfer Window was a failure or not, we will be the butt of most jokes for a while.

The Guardian online has been running a set of articles over the last few weeks on a daily basis discussing the
Premier League teams and their prospects for the new season. It was done on an alphabetical basis and it just so happened that yesterday was No.17 - Us.

Nothing spectacular, earth-shattering or indeed anything we as Spurs fans didn't know.

What did piss me off was the comments section.

It was full of vitriol and trolling from supporters of what in would say were the 'old Sky big boy teams'

Stuff including.
New ground looks like toilet, laughs ad infinitum
Billion pound spend on ground going to cripple spending for many years
Tottenham never win anything.
Poch leaving
HK going to Real Madrid for £100 mill at end of this new season.
Tottenham hated
Etc etc.

I don't think I got anywhere near half way through the comments before I gave up. It also included many comments from supposed Spurs fans of the bed wetting kind.
