Zaha brings unpredictability and the ability to beat 2 or 3 opponents with power and skill. None of our other players offers us that. For Palace last season he became unplayable despite opponents doubling up on him. Our opppnents can’t do that either. I’m excited at the prospect of getting him!

To be honest against some teams to have Zaha & Moura on the wings would create such problems! Counter attacking with speed. Plus let's be honest when you play against Kane, Zaha, Eriksen/Alli, Moura you simply can't double team any particular one in that lineup without giving space away to someone you don't want to have it.

I tend to forget about Moira given his limited use so far.

I'm not convinced about Zaha but I am coming to the conclusion he is finally getting to a higher level. Him and Moura either side of Kane up top will give us a new dynamic and I certainly prefer Zaha over Son.

Would bringing in Zaha see us move Dele deeper into a CM role? If he joined, we'd have Dele, Sonny, Zaha, Moura, Lamela (and GKN obvs) fighting for 2 positions.

Personally, I feel he's a super player and will improve us but I don't think he'd add as much as a top CM. Truth be told, I had also figured that we could strengthen the wingback area but then Trips had a top world cup. His lack of pace still worries me though.

This is another thing that concerns me. Dele is best operating off Kane imo. He played deeper in the WC and was non-existent.

I'm split on Zaha, was never a big fan but maybe the slow window is making me desperate. Yes he is fast, yes he has great feet and tricks up his sleeve, but his conversion rate is pretty poor and I don't think his assists rack up either.
He would offer us something we lack, (although son and moura are similar) I do believe with better players and Poch guiding him he could become a really dangerous top level player.
I would be more excited if we were chasing a real decent cm to link up play between defence and attack because, for me, that is where we are lacking the most.
Anyway fingers crossed, I'm off to bed. COYS

When you talk about assists and poor stats you need to realise he’s serving benteke not harry kane!

Trips pace doesn’t worry me at all when defensively we have Sanchez to cover. But going forward trips offers quality service which I would have any day over pace, you can have all the pace in the world but if you haven’t got the quality to back it up your harmless. How many times walker would get in great positions with his pace then fail to deliver.

If that happens, Eriksen should be a much better foil than Jesse Lingard, but it is a concern. Dele has played deeper before though, so I think he could adapt.

To be fair to him started great in the opener then seemed to get injured. Not sure he was right after. Still popped up with a goal in the QF also.

Could be a moot point anyway as maybe its only Eriksen Poch wants to try deeper.

Could be untrue as he’s unlikely to tell a stranger but a mate of mine who I go to Spurs with just sent me a photo of his work colleague standing with Zaha. Apparently when this guy asked, unsurprisingly, Zaha said he isn’t coming to Spurs.

I’ve asked him to ask his colleague for more info which he said he would on Monday morning.

Just passing on in good faith.

I don't think Zaha would tell a random person what is happening. Imagine the fallout, he said pretty much the same thing to a Palace fan last week.

Or he could just be telling the truth. Can’t see them selling with so little time left and so long on his contract.

There is a pic circulating on the palace forums my mate sent it to me last week it is probably the same recycled shit. He's going to say that to a palace fan regardless. If you were him would you tell a supporter you were off and risk it?

This is exactly where I’m at. It’s his skill set and dynamism, and the options this would offers our attack as a whole which makes me want this signing so much.

There’s not really another player we’ve been linked to who could offer this. Well, maybe Gelson Martins but he’s totally unproven and has now gone to Atletico anyway.

Martial was my number 1 want for this summer but I have to say I’m swaying more for Zaha than him now.

Still don't see why not both. Zaha as part of a front 3 with Kane and Moura. Martial plays AM also. Christian and Dele pulling the strings behind. Frightening.

I’ve personally never seen martial play AM so can’t really comment on that but the reason I’d say is it’ll cost best part of £150m for both
