Not sure I would be happy with any player going to Villa next season - looks to be the making of a very dysfunctional team next season.

Assuming it's still Bruce in charge, he won't take any shit from Edwards but he will also need a player of his talents if the worse happens at Villa, having CCV there will be a good for Edwards also.

You could well be right sir.
And I agree about Grealish keeping possession very well that is the one aspect of his game that's stuck with me. Im still concerned about trying to replace Dembele I've never seen anybody come close to how he is with the ball.

Palace in trouble??

I'd be very happy if it was Edwards and CCV going out on loan to Villa.
Maybe even Skipp if Bruce will use someone so young and if Bruce even ends up staying on.

Ideally I don’t want our skilled players over there, but players with some grit like Skipp or maybe even Roles could fit in.

To be fair, his skills don't necessarily need replacing like for like. I've always enjoyed watching Dembele but one of his biggest weaknesses is holding on to the ball for too long and slowing down our attack. Often I've felt a player who can receive and release the ball quicker would be needed instead. We will miss his physicality and the way he can drag out a couple of players with a single turn, but the former should be covered by the other defensive mids like Dier/Wanyama, and the need for the latter not as important if our more creative mids get that ball moving quicker.

Another very good point. He does have a tendancy to carry the ball a little too much at time and also too afraid to have a shot at times

Had a quick looked through Villa's finances for those interested.

- 15/16 - T/O £106m, lost £30m. BEFORE they went down.

- 16/17 - T/O £71m, lost £7.5m. Including £41m of Parachute payments.

- 17/18 - Guessing T/O £63m, could be a loss of £20m IF on the same wage bill? Parachute payments will have shrunk to £33m.

Looking forward explains the panic, its not just cash problem, but the imminent drop in Parachute money.

- 18/19 - T/O maybe £45m, losing as much as £38m. Parachute payments shrink to £15m.

- 19/20 - T/O maybe £30m, losses could be £53m, Parachute payments are ZERO.

- Championship TV money is a basic of just £7m I believe.

- Matchday and Commercial also fell sharply in 16/17 according to their year end report.

Now obviously they've reduced their wage bill considerably since 16/17 - so losses probably won't be quite so bad - but there's only so much you can cut and still compete, or even stay in the Champsionship.

Norwich have the same problem this summer, the whole way the football industry is run is insane.

I think its even worse - I read one of the reasons they could not raise cash to pay the tax bill, they have already borrowed against the future parachute payment.

Onomah should absolutely be out of the question for Grealish in any aspect. Poch and Onomah especially, have to make this transition like Kane before work between development and first team reg .

If we get Grealish that would be a brilliant addition to an already exciting young english squad of Onomah Winks Dier Alli Kane KWP
