I always assumed that the special kitty was Joe Lewis.

@coopsieyid posted what looked to be the first refusal part of the contract. If a bid is accepted we can match it, no other bids can then be accepted even if more.

Yeah but they are not going to accept just any bid. A bid comes in and they let every interested party know what that bid id to see if any one tops it. It won't stop a bidding war at all.

Don't see why he should destroy the balance of the squad. He's not an ego maniac as far as i'm aware.

Bale wouldn't himself, but if he comes in on a far greater wage than everyone else that could cause plenty of upset in the camp.

We saved ourselves between 1 and 3 years of Bale’s wages yesterday at Wembley though! I always liked Davies....

And even if it wasn't to affect team spirit, it would make future contract negotiations rather... uncomfortable for levy.

Indeed, there is certainly a lot more to consider than just buy him cos he's very good.

I've already wasted 1 summer on here over Gareth Bale (when he left for RM) and I won't be doing it again.

...a house in Chigwell you say?

Ah, so you mean that bale would never be able to replicate his performance on a sunny afternoon in Manchester. Gotcha.
Nah, if you can do it once in a CL final you can do it twice in Manchester, I question your supposition that there would be a sunny afternoon in Manchester though.
I'm not getting this idea that Bale would upset the squad equalibrium and players would get the 'ump, our players are ambitious and Bale coming would be an enormous boost for them, the excitement level would be sky high in the squad. Does anyone seriously think our players would think it was bad because they think he is better than them? If so they are not the kind of player I want in the squad anyway.

Personally I think if we really wanted him we could do a deal but the financial implications with regard the rest of the squad could be the deciding factor when deciding wether or not to pursue this. For a short bald man, Levy can be quite creative when he wants so although my personal feeling is that it won't happen I wouldn't totally rule it out. Football is a funny old game and it's nice to have the odd dream that doesn't involve waking up to find jizz everywhere.

Considering every time I pop into this transfer thread the people have managed to spin 5 pages out of a thought they had with no evidence to support it, I am thinking the idea of getting Bale back makes many on here jizz everywhere...

The only way I can think of, or best way to be creative, is with Bale's commercial revenue. It has been said that Real take a good amount that Bale makes from this, now there is no guarantee how much he would make each year but if we gave him a good chunk of it, then the more he performed the more he would generate himself with this.

Would be a risk for Bale and still us as would still probably need to make him highest paid player here.
