Reading between the lines here, but whatever business we are doing this summer, Pochettino would like it completed before the pre-season.

Slight dig at Levy?

You and United have to go again after losing, is it going to be harder for them than for you?

I don't care what happens in another house, at another club. We're focused on us. We feel very disappointed because we lost to one of the best teams in Europe, and sure the best team in England. That's part of our ambition, how we are and how we're thinking now. We believe were capable of beating any team. That is good. But it's not easy to be consistent through the whole season. The challenge for us in the next few years. To be consistent, try to start the season better.

Manchester City started the season really well - we started with a lot of problems. We were very unstable in the way we started the season. If we want to win and we think we're going to be competitive and challenge for big things we need to start from day one of pre-season in a different way. That so important to improve. If you see how we start the last three seasons. Always, with different problems, the season starts after four, five, six or 10 games before we start to compete at the level that we want. That's a thing to improve, we are going to be focused and try to start better than the previous season.

Wouldn't call him one season wonder .... it spurred Harry on to 2 consecutive golden boots, so let Salah think he's the new messiah

Harry's performed for a few seasons in a row now...Salah has one decent Prem season to his name.

Can he replicate season on season. Currently makes Salah a one season wonder thus far in my book.

Only following guidelines set out by rival fans.

Maybe but also Pochettino's teams historically start off the season erratically before finding a grove around the midway point. Whether he thinks that is a transfer window issue, self stylistic issue, player issue, etc. is anyone's guess.

Last time Barca were in for a defender from Ajax we beat them to it :playful:

We really need to be on the ball in the summer window as a number Europe’s elite clubs are in need of an overhaul given their ageing superstars are starting to decline.

If Toby goes then he needs to be replaced and given Verts isn’t getting any younger (albeit in stunning form) a quality addition should be made (De Ligt, Tah or Pavard).

I don’t know how loose and I’m sure there was ITK recently linking us with Pereira the versatile Porto full back again. Another play whom would add pace and an attacking bite to our full back areas.

I haven't seen any ITK since early last summer regarding Pereira. If I had to put money on one position we aren't going to spend money on this summer it would be RB.

interesting article by Graham Hunter this evening clearly suggesting Bale is being not so subtlety shown the door at Real this Summer, as Madrid hope to pounce on any PSG big name sales.
Links Bale to Utd, Bayern and ourselves.
I think we would try to use Toby rather than Kane as part exchange however. Madrid would have to give us cash and Bale to get Kane, which wouldn’t fit the core message of the piece.

We are on the edge as far as foreign players in the premier league squad, so this might dictate a few of our decisions this summer. For instance if Rose goes, Bertrand is probably the next choice. U can see us getting one more british player just to give us dome more latitude.

I'd rather think it's a little 'warning' rather than a dig.

Having said that this season we were fine after 10 games or so, we then had dreadful form for a month and picked things up again in December and I think that was hugely down to having a number of important players missing and not being in Poch's 'full flow' version which seems to kick in around December.

He's right in the respect that we need numbers in and the ENTIRE squad ready to go at it from the off and a few extra signings will certainly help with that. So we do really need to get it right and get it done early, especially with it being a WC year.

Fergie always used to have the belief that it didn't matter who was top of the league at Christmas as you generally win it in the second half of the season but City really have laid down a marker now, so much so that we can't really be any more than 6 points off the top at that stage, especially as it's possible that it'll be a 5-way battle.

Sport Witness reports that we have made a "concrete offer" for 18 year old Trabzonspor winger Abdulkadir Omur.

Is this going to be like the Cengiz Under saga all over again? :yuck: Anybody seen Omur play before? To me, Yusuf Yazici seems like the star talent at Trabzonspor and one we should be looking at.

We dropped a bollock by not signing Under, he’s been excellent for Roma this season.

Was reviewing Man City's squad earlier and just the ridiculous money they spend on players. It got me thinking this: Ilkay Gundogan is exactly the type of player to replace Dembele. Now obviously we wouldn't go after him and he has his own injury issues but when at Dortmund I think he is exactly the type of player we should be looking for. Just don't know who that is out there as of now.

According to Darren Lewis who is pretty decent with us, we will accept a big offer if we get one for Dembele, also saying we are looking at Gomes & Cristante
