Even so, it would still mean we sold a player just because he mouthed off to press. We don't want other players to see that as a way out in the future.

Have said as much, I just think this changes it somewhat, if we can actually benefit from it directly.

You've also got to remember that other players might think twice about doing what Rose has done, he's received a lot of stick and even people like Neville have quite rightly pointed out that some suitors may even be put off.

That said, he's probably been promted to do it, and I do agree we don't want to set a precedent, I just think if we can really benefit from it it might be worth doing.

Won't allow myself to be drawn into the prospect of this, however, I hope we table multiple bids, contact all our people in the media and get them to run stories that Martial has been phoning Poch and Levy late in the night, sobbing down the line about how terrible the atmosphere is at Utd is and how he needs to join us and us alone, and also that he has trained with both Lloris and de Gea and that Hugo is much better, that Mourinho is barely on the training pitch and is a grumpy doughy past it caricature of himself, then he refuses to train, then on transfer day we land his plane that's on the way to Milan and hide him in the Bricklayers all day until approximately 1 hour before the deadline when we submit a new bid with an attached note that if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ever end up having to play at NWHL their top five players will mysteriously disappear

If that somehow fails then we start incessantly baiting Mourinho in the media that he is so scared of Tottenham that he won't sell us a player he rates less than Lindegaard, that he is running scared with his 400m odd pounds of purchases from a club who basically hasn't even had a net spend across a decade to the point that when we destroy them 6-0 at Old Trafford in November, Mourinho is so enraged that he attempts to eye gouge Poch and is literally turned into some form of human pulp by big bad Victor

Tactically daft to let rose go for an attacking player. Martial is a superb player, but I think we need rose more. In the team sense.

Poch''s system is reliant on good fullbacks. They are essential. It's not a good swap.

Buy martial outright. Selling rose leaves the team weaker. Unless they find a decent LB that can play pochs system at the same time.

Ahh, now this is a proper Spurs transfer window! High hopes that will undoubtably be crushed.

That said, bidding for one of their players brings joy to my soul (much like watching chelscum lose today).

if Martial and Shaw were part of any deal (we'd need to pay as well) I can really see the sense in it

But there's no way Mourinho would allow it. If anyone can get the best of them, it's Poch and José would have egg on his face if they came good.

Never happening

I think Martial has potential to be world class while Rose is at his peak.

He may not recover fully from injury, if he does he may not oust Davies from the team, and even if he does he's still a wanker who has shown immense disrespect to the club.

If United want to swap him for Martial we should bite their hands off.

rose is 27 and about to start declining in value, if we could get martial in a straight swap it would be an incredible deal for us. he will only increase in value and he solves our pace/width/striker cover issues. we then have 70 mil net to land a top LWB and barkley. i think id mail myself to levy and allow him to throatfuck me for this swap to happen. They need a left back more than we need a wide forward but Martial would make us better than Rose would make them.

If we could swap them, we do much better out of the deal IMO

Though I'd rather keep a motivate Rose and add Martial, obvs

Can't see us getting Martial, maybe Shaw as let's be honest he must love playing for Jose, bet he would beg to play under porch again

If Levy could sell Martial and keep Rose this summer some should build a statue of him outside the new stadium. Which shows how unlikely it would be.

Mourinho has spent the summer talking about us and trying to weaken us (Dier), I can't see him going for it.

IF we could get Martial sweet on us and Jose does want him out then I guess there is a tiny chance.

If this all comes off... Martial, Sanchez, Diop.... Henrichs? Sessegnon?... And no Barkley... I'd be pretty happy with that.

Given that he's struggling to get in their team now, while Lukaku has arrived and Zlatan is coming back, I think it's fair to say he's going to be leaving.

Just thought I'd have a look on Redcafe to see what they are saying about this and none of them want to lose him. They all seem to hate Levy too for some reason.

They hate Levy because we are holding Kane hostage.

Or at least that is how it is painted to me by a United supporter i know....

If we've seen anything already, it's that other teams haven't sorted their defences. Ours needs to be watertight.

It's funny watching them on Redcafe so annoyed about this.

I keep begging the moderators to let me on there to post but they won't let me, I guess they've seen me own RAWK and don't want a bit.

Was thinking this earlier, even City despite winning 2-0 still look like their 'philosophy' has no real interest in defensive organisation or tackling.

Looks like they will just rely on the pace of their wingbacks as a security blanket for their derpy central defenders.

Early days but I was quite encouraged with the game earlier. In pre-season they looked to be becoming an unstoppable force.

Looked like a standard performance of theirs from last season. If they don't sign competition for company or a key DM I don't think they are guaranteed to run away with it. Ederson flapped a couple of times also.

Walker's pace and Kompany's experience helped them at times, but Brighton didn't really have enough to keep them under pressure.

If we can keep our defensive solidity we will run anyone close. Selling Rose will hurt that, but Davies played a lot of games last season and contributed.
