Oak Tree had some nice moments again at least.

Apart from that nothing to see. Well apart from dier some how managing to be twice as worse as anyone else on the team which was already having a terrible low energy performance.

lads ---- why should we be pressing like the game means anything in 80+ degree heat in a friendly? Does it matter at all? No
These games are about getting match fit and trying some players and ideas out. The real stuff starts in two weeks so we need to be ready then not today. Happy with some things I have seen especially from the youngsters. Also Kane looks sharp unlike the jaded player who started the last couple of seasons.

Onwards and upwards and 4-1 against Madrid followed by 3-0 against us is good for City but means little

Jokes aside you can tell City started their preseason a couple of weeks before us.

Why did we come back so late?!

I don't care; we were jogging around playing sloppy rubbish. Unacceptable.

Yeah of course it's no excuse but I do think blanket statements about the state of our squad based on this one pre-season friendly against a very good side are over the top

One positive from tonight is that with all their buying I actually don't think City looked all that. They are still soft in the middle. We were shit but I think they hammered us more at their place in the spring. If that was just a training session for us I am more confident of our prospects this season. We were minus Rose, Son, Big Vic, and (hopefully) Pereira on the right. On evidence we have much higher to go to our ceiling than that city team.

Not a great friendly, we do need to step it up for when the seasons starts.

Tactical experiments went all wrong. But, more worryingly, it seems so easy for a well managed team to just box us in. This was a problem last season and we really need to work on it.

Positives were that GKN and Janssen look ready to play important roles this season.

It was only a preseason friendly, so no serious worries. Lets keep in mind Poch's record of preseason friendlies has been pretty darn poor. With the only one you could consider a real success result wise being his first season.

Still there are valid concerns brought up in the last two games that I hope we iron out before the beginning of the season.

I think that game really highlighted that we need more pace. Any player we buy this window must have it.

Same old City really. Great going forward,
they will hammer a few teams this season. But still a bit frail at the back imo. When both teams are up to speed, I expect it will be a closer affair.

No need to be ur smart self otter, they have the best squad in the league, they did last year. What do u want us to do about it? I honestly enjoyed supporting Spurs, on this forum, more when we were shite than I do know. I accept our status and accept reality.

I don't want us to do anything about it. I fancy them to win the league because they have an amazing squad. I could be wrong, I often am, but that's my opinion. But even if they don't win the league it won't be us they lose out to, I'd bet my bollocks on that.

We need more players who can play one or two-touch football. Our players hold onto it for too long and lose options whilst city's were just moving it around with ease and carving us up in the process. Not much desire to run either which would help with that but it is pre-season.

Gkn did more than anyone else out there and kwp was pretty decent for his 10 or so minutes too. Kane and dele aren't really doing anything tbh. We desperately need rose back.
That stems from the poor system on passing it back and square and to the goalie under no pressure.just invites them up the pitch.by the time we actually get it into midfield they are usually near our own box facing the wrong way with a man on their backs.everythings too safe and slow.

GKN was lively today I thought. Seemed to retain the ball better today which is a vast improvement on last season.
Dier was rank. Trippier and Davies had their flaws shown up.
Our central midfield was dominated, and it was so frustrating to see city win the ball so easy and find a man so easily.
Too tired to ramble on but Dier was lacklustre and looking to carry on his form from last season.

Performance wise, on a technical level, that has to go down as one of the worst I have ever seen, because until a few brief moments towards the end I don't think we managed to carry out any aspect of the game to even satisfactory standard. We were so far off it, pre season or not, it was unbelievable.

As I said at half time, I suspect that Poch is properly beasting them and it's having an effect on what we are seeing in the matches... But that wasn't a pretty watch.

When you talk about where we could still improve, defending set pieces and playing our way upfield against pressing teams would be near the top of the list... Didn't tick those boxes tonight.

Individually very poor. Some of the subs - Nkoudou, TOB, KWP - were Ok but we're only talking fleeting glimpses. It was properly rubbish.

I'm not buying that argument. We are two weeks from playing competetive games. We should look much better at this point.

Let's all go Hyperbole over a friendly in a foreign country against a team that has had a longer pre season, I guess relegation looms, Poch out, Enic out everyone out how can we embarrass ourselves so much in an over glorified warm up match? How dare the players not be 100% fit

Hope he disband as a club and Harry Kane retires, looks like Real Madrid will get relegated too having lost to this rat of a club by a higher scoreline too

What's worse than people getting hyperbolic about a preseason friendly in a foreign country? Somebody getting hyperbolic about people getting hyperbolic about a preseason friendly in a foreign country. People are allowed to be miffed. It was a shit performance.
