I was able to get tickets to the Tottenham - PSG match in Orlando on July 22nd. First time seeing the team live...but I've got a question about what to wear.

I have a kit...well, the shirt part of one anyway. Most of my friends who are fans of teams have them too, but unlike theirs, I have a players name and number on mine...its common for American Sports leagues so I did the same with my Tottenham shirt.

Ive been told that its not normally done that way (usually the back of the shirt is just left blank by whomever is buying it) and if I wear the shirt to the stadium, its a bad look.

So...what do I wear? I dont have any other Spurs gear other than a scarf and its going to be WAY too hot for that.

Thanks in advance,

a clueless Yank

Someone is pulling your leg.

You'll see literally hundreds if not thousands of fans at any game with a number/name on the back of their shirts and you'll also see many without........its not even a 'thing', its just down to personal preference....... a shirt with a name and number on the back isn't going to look out of place at all.

Wear your shirt with pride! Enjoy the day.

Just dont wear a Chelsea or Arsenal shirt. You should be fine. Well, dont wear any other Premier League club shirt for that matter, but strictly, fuckin strictly, No Scum or Arse shirt.

Oh that's good to know! Yeah, I have a lot of "born in the wool" football fans who like pushing my buttons. Thanks for the clarification.

I'll wear my Eriksen shirt proudly!

Like A&C says wear your shirt and enjoy it.

I think the American tradition of player names on shirts and most fans turning up in the home shirt is a really good thing. Problem over here is far too many, are far too cynical and think everything other than getting pissed and shouting obscenities at the away fans is childish.

You might want to check the spelling of Eriksen first. I have used SC for years and I am pretty sure it is spelt Erikson (or Erikssen, or maybe Eriksson, or sometimes Ericsen)

I agree, but I think the problem is our replica shirts are designed to fit athletes at the peak of fitness, you put it on a bloke in his 40s who weighs 16 stone and it's not a pleasant sight.
The American sports shirts, tend to have a much looser fit, so you can wear them whatever state your body's in and not look noticeably disgusting.

Remember, it is good etiquette for visiting fans to get the beers in for your block at half time.
