ya, anyway you slice it its a weird story. Im not an orthopedist so I cant tell you what the indications are for hip surgery with his injury but it seems unusual that they are just now figuring it out. it seems like 99% of the injuries I recall they either get surgery up front or not at all.

Mrs.JimmyG2 has had hip surgery
and both knees replaced
though one was admittedly keyhole partial replacement.
But the point I'm trying to make is that it hasn't affected
her professional soccer career in any way.
Putting her in touch with Erik as we speak.

I still think this is all somehow drug related. Is it really outside of the realms of possibility for the club to put out injury related news to protect a player? Just all seems really weird to me.

Maybe because they don't know precisely what's wrong
There have been numerous reports that scans showed no injury, yet he complained about his hip

It's actually more often than not that the details of surgery isn't shared. The standard club statement is normally along the lines of "[player name] is undergoing surgery on [joint]". Sound familiar?

"Nabil has today undergone surgery to his left knee"

"Pritchard has undergone surgery on his left ankle"

"Walker has undergone lower abdominal surgery"
