During all the transfer windows from now on:

- Hello, I'm calling to enquire about the availability of Del... Hello? Hello?

It's like Ferguson said, no one even bothered asking about Scholes and Giggs - there was no point.
Alli and Kane should be the same. And Rose, and Walker, and Dier, and Toby, and Verts and Erisken... bloody hell we've got a killer squad, and so young too.

Not sure we're at that point (yet) of being able to tell clubs not to come in for our players. Possibly in 3 or 4 years when/if we get a couple of trophies and CL football regularly.

A big if, but IF Madrid do come calling and throw 50mill at us, would we/should we take it?

Agreed, but £50m...no. Perhaps £80m.

I would love it not to be the case, but realistically if RM or Barca came knocking with that sort of money, with the kind of shenanigans they are capable of behind the scenes and stirring up the press (which seems to have already started), DA's head would be turned. From then on in, it's a case of when, not if.

On the plus side, we are not a one man team, so we don't need him anything like as much as we did when Bale-gate kicked off. If losing DA meant gaining Ross Barkley plus some other's, then I think we would still be able to win the PL within the next 2-3 seasons.

Even if that were the case where his head had been turned we'd ask for a lot more, at the moment though we know he is happy so there is no need to sell, we"ll be sending out completely the wrong message to our players and the manager and we certainly don't need the money.

I'm not saying we should invite offers and I am sure we will tell all comers to piss off. BUT we all know how it works. If RM or Barca are really keen, they will get the machinery going to seduce him and eventually he will have a quiet word with his agent. Definitely won't happen this transfer window. Probably won't happen in the summer. But if we don't win the PL next year, the chances are DA will be playing for RM or Barca in the 2018-2019 season.

If you don't like the sound of that, then I suggest you put an insurance bet of £30 on DA playing for RM or Barca in 2018-2019. That way if that happens you will get some money back at the very least ;).

I think with Kane you could say it may be like that. I reckon Ali is 'fair game' & will go at some point.

I love how you're so sure that this will happen :D

I merely said that we shouldn't actively be looking to sell for the reasons cited, I'm not gonna dispute any of that because whatever scenario you and me think of it's just pure and utter speculation and fantasy but my point is that we need to keep players like him at the club and we shouldn't sell unless they kick up a fuss, he is priceless.

And as soon as you mention this to a scouser they say "but Gerard was a CM Ali is a striker"

Bit slow on the uptake that lot.

His head will be turned. I give him another season, or possibly 2 seasons max as he may want to get a feel of being part of the new stadium. 2019/20 he wont be here.
