One of things that's disappointed me ( although not surprised me) is the scattergun approach again at the end of the window. Going out on wild goose chases and bidding for players like Zaha and Sissoko who are valued at double what we would entertain paying.

All seems a rather pointless exercise.

Took the words out of me, word for word!!!!

Why bother, i would have been happy if we just bought two players in and said we are not interested in anyone. Zaha,Sissoko, Isco talk shows we needed bodies in.

Mentality, the key thing here is mentality.

think big = act big, think small = act small.

Well, it's 230am here in Australia and I reckon I've sat here since about 8pm continually refreshing this thread hoping for anything to happen.

And thanks to everyone else for making this literally the only entertaining thing to happen today. If it wasn't for this thread I would have had to.. fuck, I dunno, do something productive, I guess.

I'm going to go dream of waking up to find that Spurs have announced Isco.
same here, haven't learnt my lesson from last year when I stayed up all night watching a SSNs stream waiting for Saido to be announced.

At least these Sky Sports reporters are all fit

What a fucking waste of time, eh. This has been a pretty disappointing end to the window. It's too bad there's no football on the weekend for us to take our minds off of it.

Anyway, this part of the forum gets shut down tomorrow, yes? I know it's only a small gesture but I want to thank the admin, mods, @dovahkiin and all the ITK here for their efforts.

Levys laughing his cock off in his office counting the shekels while we hold our pieces in our hands waiting for crumbs of comfort from another shithouse of a transfer window!!

You'll wake up at 11pm UK time and through your bleary eyes see the backend of a SSN Yellow ticker tape just catching

isco deal is announced...

Then you'll wait 10 minutes for all the other shit to go around and it will finally say "Spurs complete deal to house supermarket chain in corner of new stadium as Tesco deal is announced" :banghead:

It is actually kind of similar to the AVB debacle. It's all very well buying a 'philosophy' coach in order to impart a certain way of playing, but that often comes with a very clear view of what players said coaches want. It isn't as simple as give him any old player and he'll make them amazing, good recruitment is also key to building something. Dortmund sell lots of players but seem surgically precise in their recruitment (apart from a couple of boobs lately). Whereas we end up looking like we don't know what we're doing every deadline day - despite a couple of solid, sensible buys earlier in the summer.

The lack of ambition is such a shame. All the other clubs going for top 4 have spent big. Those below us have spent big. Yet we are going in to a season undercooked again.

I just dont understand our strategy or long term aims. Yeah i get we are building a stadium but we committed to that prior to champs league money and the new tv deal. So surely there is a surplus to spend. In two years, we will have a great stadium but an average team to watch. If you stand still and everyone else progress, then you get left behind.

The only thing i am clinging to is JJ being quiet is a sign that we are still busy...

So I've had to do an hour or so of work (fuck you capitalism).

Are we now back in the realms of 'nothing's going to happen'?

Contrary to the negative posts, which are understandable, I think there are loads of others on here still holding out hope waiting for that signing which a CL season warrants. I'm not giving up 'till the early hours. (y) to the ITKers

Actually feel quite sorry for when GKN reads the twitter comments on the announcement of his signing.

Boufal, who many here wanted, rated and would have been pleased with, went to Southampton...and we have signed noone...just let that sink in.

The funny thing is I do this to myself every year. I think..we've sold Chadli and Mason, Boufal has gone to Southampton, we must have someone lined up... and yet...here we are again...just like last year with the striker scenario.
