I've got a feeling this might happen. Seems a Spurs-like deal- he's going for €8-10m, is still young, and has just come off a fantastic season. I don't know too much about him though? Is he quick? Good with the ball? Can he beat a man?

If the answer is 'Yes' to all those questions, then it could be a good buy?

It's the Dutch league so it is hard to tell if beating a man over there can translate, but the answer to all of those questions is yes and pretty emphatically.

Only my opinion but he looks an incredibly talented player.

It is quite poignant that it appears there is such little interest in him though, so the question of character may well be something that is putting off suitors.

If he's going for that sort of money though, I'd imagine there are many who are extremely tempted.

It's quite odd, isn't it? Fenerbache seems to be the main team interested in him. Although I just searched him on Twitter and there seems to be many of their fans complaining about Monaco- so I guess they might want him now as well...?

I guess it goes to show the importance of a player's character/attitude in making it to the top of the game, and it's very clear for Pochettino that this plays a vital part in his decision to sign a player.

As a manager at the top, you live and die by your decisions in the transfer market. I guess it makes life a hell of a lot easier if you buy players who have that hunger to succeed and who you can trust to work hard.

Janssen is such a great example of that. If he fails it will be because they were wrong about his talent or he doesn't get the game time. It will not be about attitude, everything I have seen written about him portrays this steely determination that makes me excited.

If Ziyech goes to Fenerbache then it's pretty clear the rumours about his attitude must be true.

Great stats from last season's Eredivisie. Clearly the best attacking midfielder in the league, to boot.

In my opinion he plays a bit in the style of Mahrez, they look quite similar the way they dribble and carry a threat. Plays as a 10 though, so would have strong competition from Alli and Eriksen.

The only doubt as I am told (I speak quite regularly with a Dutch football journalist) is that his attitude is quite abrasive. He really wanted a move last January and didn't behave particularly well apparently. Toys out of pram etc.

well players of that quality will want to be starters not bench warmers. we failed to score in 6 of our 38 games last season, 3 0-0 draws and 3 1-0 loses, and we were the 2nd highest scorers in the league. our problem was a weak bench, but not sure it would be fair that Ericksen, Alli or Lamela would have to miss out unless the incomer was a Götze class player, but even then by January if one of those 3 were to be mainly bench players, they might want a fresh challenge. that then weakens our bench again.

myself i would see how Son and N'Jie and possibly Edwards are doing by January, before considering buying a class play maker. by then we will know if we are still in the CoC, and whether we are still involved in any European comp. our bench is already stronger a striker to bring on, Wanyama, hopefully a lot fitter Son, N'jie, Bentaleb/Mason, so just for eg (our strongest XI, that will not suffer burnout unless we go on a good CoC run, or finish in the top 3 of our CL group)):

Lloris
Walker -- Toby -- Jan/Wimmer -- Rose
Dier --- Dembele
Lamela -- Alli -- Eriksen
Kane

bench: Vorm - Trippier/Davies - Wanyama - Bentaleb/Mason - Son - N'jie - Janssen

that's a strong starting XI and a lot stronger bench, where do we fit in an AM in that lot unless N'Jie and Chadli are to be let go

Remember when I said we need to sign Ousmane Dembele or Gabriel Jesus 6 months ago? Yep well Ousmane is killing it and Jesus is wanted by nearly every big club now, shame we don't move quickly. Anyway Faitout Maousssa is the next big thing. Watch this space.

What kind of player is he?
Very fast winger and great with the ball, only 17 and played for Monaco 14 times last season (even when he was 16). Joint top-scorer at the U19 Euros, and arguably the best player.

Daily Mail saying Fosu-Mensah isn't in Mourinho's plans. I was really impressed with him when United played us, they collapsed without him.

Yeah, he looked imposing and supremely athletic. Wonder why he doesn't rate him?
