Of course I do. I don't know whether we manage to screw up more often than other clubs, but it seems that way. Maybe it only seems that way because I don't take so much notice of other clubs' transfer business.

Yup, so hardly just a Spurs thing (y)

Indeed - the cards up our sleeve in case the Berahino deal didn't really pan out either

I just hope we make moves now to either sign this Janssen guy or admit defeat and move on to other targets before we run out of other targets

It was criminal to make Kane play the whole season as the only true striker in the whole squad last year and it would be inexcusable to do the same again this year and repeat the same mistakes in the transfer market

We've had a long time to assess the market and identify targets - we should have a 10 fold deep list of viable options and have a max spend attributed to them, once we reach that value they're either signed or we move on to the next one. No more punching a stone wall trying to sign players for a price the selling club won't accept right up until the last min and watching the window slam shut with us empty handed

It would be very unfair and potentially career affecting to expose Kane to the same level of high intensity football for a whole season again. He needs someone who can share the burden effectively
He looks absolutely knackered, so it's so important to bring in a number 9 as early as possible.

It just baffles me how we would leave such important business so late. Incredibly risky stuff. It's something we got away with massively last year as Dier managed to step up to the plate and Kane never suffered a long term injury.

I would be surprised if this doesn't get done now as the amount they allegedly want seems more in line with what we usually do business at.

The only worry is that with the PL being awash with money (and AZ will obviously know that), they hold out for another PL club to come in. If that happens we could have problems and all the more reason to get it done asap.

Leaving our transfer business late? Sorry you're going to have to explain that one to me?

Put it this way, Chelsea still haven't announced Batshuayi despite it being over 3 days since the news broke.

this lad is so adamant on coming here and if he finally did, say, over the next week or so, how stressful this whole ordeal could be for him?

I don't know has this ever occurred to Levy and Co that so much haggling and negotiation over the players we want, could it just affect their morale and justification to perform afterall... is it really worth it?

chelscum swooped batshit with one attempt.. citeh seemed to get nolito rather efficiently.. sane to liverfool was swift too.. makitheryan to manure drags, but negotiation seemed well in stages without one dicking over the other so much..

just wondering are we exhausting too much efforts in our transfers? is just getting too frustrated.. I realised I was waiting for wednesday as I read somewhere we are preparing for some bids to Sanabria I think, and here I am friday still seeing discussions possible signing for us in the media... good grief..

West Ham must have it worse than us because well they're West Ham

Normally it is funny to see our fans get childish and whiny but for some reason this transfer window I find it really annoying.

Maybe it is because there is so much money flying around. Or maybe it is because we are a CL team again and now people think we are the shit.

According to the player himself, we have bid and bid and bid and AZ won't even come to the table to discuss it. That's not playing hardball. That's downright rude to Vincent Janssen. This transfer will get done under our terms because the player wants to come to us and we are Tottenham Hotspur and they are AZ. We ought not to just stump up the extra money when everything is in our favor.
Don't like this. Fair play to AZ for getting such a talent for cheap and helping develop him. We don't 'deserve' him more just cause we're a bigger club. Imagine a Madrid fan or United fan said that about Kane.

I'm confused. Not that that's anything new. Berahino expressed his frustration, said he wanted to join. Now, apparently, that attitude has put Poch off going back for him. Now Janssen is doing something similar, yet Poch still apparently wants him. Can someone please explain the difference? Or is it somehow different degrees of attitude here? And btw, if we did go back for Berahino, would anyone be unhappy with that? I wouldn't.
