Prince Ali is running again for the presidency. Will be extremely difficult since al of Europe will undoubtedly support Blatter's partner in corruption Platini. But it's worth a shot. I like the bloke. Think he has good intentions. Would much rather him over Platini. Dont know anything about the other guy running(is there another guy?)

What I do find curious is that all CL and EL teams will donate €1 per head for their next European game to the 'immigration crisis'.
I wonder how much UEFA/FIFA will take as an admin charge...

I don't think Platini is anything like Blatter to be honest. If he were he certainly wouldn't be advocating reform like he is.

The man was bought by Qatar and Blatter is now also seemingly advocating some reform as well. Why do you think that is? They're now saving face because the US and the Swiss have finally decided enough is enough and are doing something tangible about all the corruption.

You do like to throw your allegations about. Any proof?

It's one thing harboring a culture, but being smart enough to not be directly linked to it, like Blatter. It's another to be directly linked to the corrupt culture and for their to be evidence of kick backs and benefits given to you/your family, even though you deny it.

Platini votes for Russia. Platini gets a Picasso. Platini votes for Qatar. Platini's son gets a CEO position of a Qatari backed sports company and Qatar buys Sarkozy's favorite club. Platini met with Bin Hamman for a breakfast then met with Sarkozy and the Qatari bid power brokers for a dinner. Come on!

*BUMP*

Did anyone hear Philippe Auclair's rant against Infantino on Thursday's Guardian Football Weekly? Incredible to hear him describe Infantino as in many ways worse than Blatter and his attempted sabotaging of Morocco's 2026 WC bid.

Apparently he did a deal with US Soccer that basically guaranteed that USA would get 2026 if he was elected. Squeaky bum time in front of the 2019 election should the Moroccan bid win out.

This is no surprise. I have spent many years serving on committees of various organisations, and the only thing that I have really learned is that corruption is inevitable.

I was quite surprised by it. Auclair seemed to be saying that Infantino had been doing a lot of dodgy deals. I wish they'd highlight this kind of thing on the podcast more often as it's a lot more interesting than the Wenger out talk they do every week.

Yeah I agree, would like to hear more about it. The main reason ia probably that not a lot of the regulars actually know what's going on there.

Infantino has put himself in a dangerous position. Almost regardless of who ends up getting 2026 he's lost any African votes he may have counted on, and if it goes to Morocco then US Soccer will throw him under the bus. Hopefully he'll be ousted either way.

Keep bribes quiet for 10 years, FIFA won’t punish you

FIFA has officially eradicated corruption. All it took was pressing the delete key.

Soccer officials and players who bother checking out the new code of ethics governing their conduct will find the word “corruption” missing. They also will discover how to avoid being banned for paying and receiving bribes.
Does anyone still feel that Infantino is better than Blatter?

You better watch what you say.....

"It will be even easier now for FIFA to banish critics.

A new offense has been introduced in the ethics code — defamation. There are no specific examples, providing flexibility for the ethics committee to decide on the burden of proof — as with all cases.

“Persons bound by this code are forbidden from making any public statements of a defamatory nature towards FIFA and/or towards any other person bound by this code in the context of FIFA events,” section 22.2 of the new code states.

Those found to have defamed FIFA will be banned from any football-related activities for up to two years and they can be booted out for five years for repeated “serious cases.”

The vagueness provides leeway for FIFA, through theoretically independent ethics organs, to punish detractors."
