I'd rather a 2nd striker than a wide forward. We already have N'Jie and Pritchard along with Chadli and Lamela, and I think Eriksen will play some games on the left. I have a feeling on a deadline day deal for Hernandez but am wishing for Austin (sadly Trix and JJ said that's not happening though). We could really do with 3 central strikers to give us an option of 2 up front and cover in case of injury or just to rest players. A lot of games with Europa League again this season.

As for the 3 out, well I think Fazio is sellable but we'll struggle to offload A-Lizzle and Adebayor. I reckon we'll end up loaning them.

On holiday, so reducing checking in, but JJ's info there sounds pretty good.
Fazio, Ade and Lennon out won't really weaken us in any way.
2 or 3 in, assuming that is Berahino and a CM, hopefully the Illaremendi stuff from the other day about a deal in place, loan with option to buy. Then a possible 3rd as a treat if all other outgoings get done, Pato maybe? Just guessing there. My suspicion would be it will be a some added attacking depth, either a leftfield gamble or a project, not expecting a big name signing.
Good to hear Townsend and Carroll are getting a shot this season, gives us a great core of academy graduates/young English talent.

Risky business if that's our plan. We simply cannot go into September without at least one DM on the books.
This is what I don't get, we had 2 DM on our books last season in Capoue and Stambouli neither played and both were sold as deemed surplus to requirements... Now whatever you think of those two players, they are better options in CDM than Dier.
It's like Poch is the anti-Ferdinand and has had a eureka moment all of a sudden and decided a DM's how to fix our poor defending...

Anyway, I'm sure the last week of TW will be a relaxing enjoyable time for all. :cautious:

We should be looking at Right wing fwrd!

Only thing is that's the one position we are still overloaded with bodies in. If we were to bring in a RWF, we'd really want to be selling both Lamela and Dembele. It's why I can't see that position being addressed till next summer.

Poch won't do wingers as such though will he? He likes wing backs and the "wingers" moving inside so I doubt we will buy and out and out winger - more likely a versatile "winger" such as Yarmolenko but we haven't really had ITK on him have we?
Edit: I'll guess that we could be going for 2 for the defensive midfield role - that would be what we need to change our hopeless midfield play - though Poch is hesitant to change his loosing formula - we'll see!

2 in and maybe 3:
1) Berahino
2) One of Bender/Kramer/Illaramendi/Wanyama/new target alluded to in lengthened list
3) Mystery man- not likely. ITK that there have been informal talks regarding Mahrez. Can't see it happening though.

Would be decent.

Great news from JJ.
And totally agree with the above comments, but all in all, at this stage of the window, it's gonna take a LOT of work!
So not gonna be surprised if it doesn't quite come off :(

So that suggests that if the CM isn't a significant upgrade on what we have just disposed of it will have been a big waste of time and money.

We still have a big weakness on the rhs imo. With Lamela and Townsend seemingly going nowhere though and Dembele being pushed out there I would be surprised if we brought anyone in there.

Maybe another striker if Poch feels N'jie isn't really a CF.
I think Poch is quoted as saying Njie isn't a CF

I would honestly love to know how much difference there would of been in Berahino's price between this week and two weeks ago. Understand the player could of been waiting for additional offers and West Brom wanted to get their replacements in first, which they finished doing well over a week ago anyway, but would be interesting to know regardless.

Anyway, its all good if we get him in this week.

I really hope that a DM is one of the two that JJ is referring to, along with Berahino. If that's the possible third one I would be more than a little nervous...

I find the whole DM signing intriguing. I'm guessing we can't be any closer to signing one yet as no definite names have been divulged.

Oh well, at least there is only another week until we find out either way.

The DM thing was always going to run to the wire IMO (But then again most of it was always going to run to the wire hehe), if we're waiting on a certain one who plays for Real madrid (it was easier saying all that than spelling his bastard name), then i'd expect this to resolve last day/day before. Unless of course his fate is decided before then, in which case it could be any day. Erm……basically, I know fuck all and it shows :D

It almost feels like Illeramendi or another Stambouli stop gap. I can't see Southampton allowing us to sign Wanyama at this stage of the window.

Personally, I will be pretty pissed off if we can't get someone in CM to improve the first team as we should have known it was a crucial signing all summer (far more crucial than the Wimmer signing for instance). Having said that, at this stage I'd rather no one than another Stambouli style signing who we'll be trying to flog in a years time.
