I'm an ITK addict as much as the next man, but part of me wishes we didn't have it. Because we're all optimists the positive expectations always get inflated, making the reality nearly always a disappointment. Plus it encourages the notion that we should be singing multiple players each window, even though in our heart of hearts we know this probably isn't the best way!

It's bloody quiet for specific targets.
If something was really imminent, you'd presume that there would be a little more concrete in the press or amongst the ITKs
It's one thing saying "we will buy some players" but it's another to state "we are buying X player"

I don't really get sucked in personally, but you're not wrong. SSN's deadline day circus & the online rumour mill have added more than a touch of hysteria that grows as the end of the window approaches.

Just because you may disagree with something does not make it stupid. Seems like you lot need to learn that. People are allowed to think dofferently and have other opinions. For example, i dont think you guys are stupid for having differing opinions that are wrong. I just think you guys are misguided by a love of dear leader and a fear to try something new.
Btw, the scouts bit is soooo clearly opinion. He even spelled it out for us, FFS! For example, I predict we'll return from Germany with nothing but broken hearts and shattered dreams. The key word there is predict. Predictions ARE opinions.

We just normally have a little lead in when it becomes apparent that a player is coming & when they get announced usually we get footage of them with last week's newspaper, or standing in the sun when it's rained all week. Or just something!

Indeed they are, but its still nice to know. My interpretation is that we are well on the way to signing a player or two, but the fees aren't yet known. Obviously it might not happen so take it with the usual pinch of salt.
