Investors ITK
Not really interested in the business as stuff always going on with prospective buyers and interested parties etc as we are attractive due to how we are managed.
Give me the football side every time.

What about Branson, and Gates?
Can't think of any shit off the top of my head about Branson, but Jobs was a real shit [nasty piece] first time around at apple apparently he was a changed man when he came back. Gates built his empire by putting smaller companies in a position that they sold to him or were squeezed to death, once he made his billions he took a step back from business and became a philanthropist. Neither were nice people on the way up, but could afford to change their image when they got there.

Just being realistic

To succeed in business in a massive way you have to be a complete and utter ****

Did Jobs care about the welfare of Foxconn workers? he knew they got a bowl of rice a day but long as Jobs got his iphones made cheaply he didnt give a shit

Did Zuckerberg care about the guy he stole the code off to make Facebook?

Did Bezos care about the hundreds of thousands of independent booksellers he was screwing over and driving into the wall?

The Emir of Qatar is a ****, so is Joe Lewis, so is literally any self made billionaire out there, you have to be an uncaring sociopath to get to the very top, whoever buys us will be one, so its not worth getting all moral about the qataris

Exactly this. I believe at their core humans are inherently good, but ego gratification has warped the minds of the masses. Billionaires probably do it on a grander scale but I've seen people of all walks of life screw each other over to get ahead. Small and large scale.
Do your best, treat everyone well, forgive all transgressions, let your love permeate through your actions, and interactions, and hopefully the world will become better. We are all connected. Hard path to follow but do what you can.
This reminds of that 19 year old kid who, after realising how expensive fake arms were, devised a brilliant prosthetic arm for 500 bucks, and then gave the plans away to the world He just wanted to make the world better. Great guy, inspiration, but he's never gonna own a football club.
All owners have done things that society would deem heartless. Accept it or don't follow football.

Why do people think Blackstone buying us would be a good thing? They wouldn't do it anyway.

Are we being bought by Gabe Newell?

Does that mean the team will start wearing hats when they play??

I see transfers as business stuff too. In essence they are HR.

I miss the kicky bally thing. Ah well, at least it's cricket season.

Its not racist. People like you always see a racist angle as soon as the word "black" is mentioned. Its a colour, deal with it
What do you mean people like me? What kind of 'people' am I?

& I ckearky said I didn't think it was racist, but that I thought that it was an odd use of cryptic language to use in this day & age when people are so sensitive to it

Suarez was officially branded racist for using that root word, wasn't he?

I've seen one post saying:

"We get this story every year."

And we do.

Regarding moral aspect of being owned by dubious billionaires, a City fan I know was musing on this recently and he said: "...when Aguero, Silva and Toure showed up it was unbelievable."

Rightly or wrongly, I suspect most fans would cast aside moral concerns if any new owner started buying world stars.

I wonder why some here have strong morality when it comes to judging money power of Manchester United Vs money of City.

If there is an American investment, say a private equity firm or a consortium, we would never know how those money were made. Most of the billionaires in US got their wealth at the time of wars - whether its WW II or Gulf war or recent Afgan/Iraq war or African civil wars. So, I am not sure how we could give a moral high ground to one investor & shut the other one out.

Yes, it is very unfortunate & condemn-able that people died in Qatar in construction of stadium. Qatar investments have bought Canary Wharf complex, own the Shard or have significant equity in Saintbury's. Has anyone here stopped buy things in Saintsbury on moral grounds that Qatar owns it ?

Why cant we treat the same way. We may be using a product day to day, without even knowing who is the owner of that product or how that money was made. Atleast with Qatar, we can be 100% sure that this is from their natural gas & not from involving in a war & killing millions.
