Another snippet from the article
' It seems Moyes would also come considerably cheaper than the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich head-coach which, predictably, is also a big factor in Levy’s thinking.'

He did a very good job at Everton. They were absolutely ****** when he took over and he made them more than respectable. He got them into 4th spot on a limited budget, got them to cup finals. Bought Coleman and Baines, brought through Osman and Barkley. He did well.

He's not a sexy choice. But don't dismiss him.

Laudrup is basically the Danish Hoddle and has comparable man-management skills. He doesn't stick around anywhere.

Pochettino? Southampton play good stuff but managing Spurs is a totally different prospect.

If you want someone with premier league experience plus medals, Benitez is your man.

I was going to dismiss this but then realised there is a possible pattern forming here.....AVB cheap option, Sherwood cheap option, Moyes cheap option?

I'd put Moyes in the same bracket as Martin O'Neill, Pulis, Hughes, Allardyce, Pardew and about a dozen more. Competent but uninspiring. I wouldn't put Benitez much higher either. I think the way the AVB gamble played out will have done a lot of damage though and I am still shocked at the turgid, single paced dross he managed to serve up with such a talented squad. Not sure Levy will take another gamble but given the alternatives I really hope he does. To Dare is to Do after all.

He's not my first choice that's Van Gaal because of his track record but we have to be realistic here. If United want him too then that's where he'll probably end up. I'd prefer De Boer or Simeone or Klopp but just maybe the Spurs job isn't the biggest job in football right now. Honestly would Moyes be so bad? If he come when AVB joined we would have welcomed him. Everyone is going to say he's had a bad season with United and I agree he has. All the people who say "this is Ferguson's team which won the league" tend not to point out that the Everton team doing so well is largely Moyes's team. He's not perfect but not the end of the world either.

Pulis above Moyes any day of the week

Pulis has managed a series of small clubs and has had each one punching above their weight, he has never suffered a relegation as a manager which the likes of Harry, Martinez etc have, he could get us punching above our weight too

Pulis is only knocked because he is British and not a glamourous exotic foreign name

If his name was Antonio Pulisio and was doing over the years in Serie A what he has done everyone would be creaming themselves over him

Playing defensive football in the Serie A? Unheard of mate. :p

No but really, he gets knocked because everyone remembers his Stoke team as playing ultimate hoofball. I think he actually got sacked from Stoke for keeping them mid-table. He's done really with with Crystal Palace this season, I'll defo say that - but no way would I have him at Spurs.

He would not be in my Top 3 or 4 choices to succeed Deadwood but I do think he is a very underated manager, I rate him same level as I do someone like Harry, I would certainly have him over Moyes any day of the week

Forget Pulis.
The simple (and horrible) truth is that the top players wouldn't give him the time of day.

Am sure people would have said the same about Harry before he was appointed, took West Ham down, undistinguished career at Pompey and Saints etc

Martinez had proved he did nothing more than a solid job. Classic example of someone who hasn't got the beans to do it at the highest level. Another Redknapp at best (yes he did fail IMO).

We need someone who can operate in the top bracket, albeit this might be our last chance. We truly have blown golden generation and opportunity.

Fair point but I think Harry's cv is stronger.
Pulis spent too long with the sole ambition of avoiding relegation at Stoke.

But can he get the team sheets from the top 4 to prepare us for games?

With a limited budget he made Everton into solid top club (not a top-4 club I know); a club on Spurs' level with less of a budget.
There is a good reason why ManU and Fergie wanted him as their new manager. But then again his ego seem to have gotten in his way when he sacked the whole ManU coaching staff, to make his mark as the boss.

Precisely my point... He may be able work wonders with a 99 cent store, bargain basement club, but that don't mean he'll come through with any kind of firepower at his fingertips... Man United proved that!
