The managers job at OT will always be like a relationship where somebody has had a long happy marriage where sadly one dies , he/she gets re-married very happy , but always in the background is the dearly departed .

Frank De Boer would be a better option in my opinion. Has done wonders since he has been at Ajax and they are on course to win the league again this season.

If true then it might be a blessing in disguise. I'm not sure that the LVG/Levy matchup would have been a harmonius one. Besides, we arguably need to be looking for a younger, more long term candidate still despite the failure with AVB.

If LVG does indeed take on the Man Utd job then it would be quite sad because he could have done something quite special. At Bayern Munich and Barcelona his vision on how a club be run shouldn't be ignored because that vision has allowed each club to go onto enormous success.

I certainly believe that should he take the mantle at Old Trafford, then we should do all we can to sign Roberto Martinez from Everton because he plays exciting attacking football; he encourages thr young players to come through and he understands the demands of the league.

Absolutely agree with this. Not sure though what we can offer that Everton cant. With them he has a board that will likely be patient and give him time. They are playing really well, and a move to us is a sideways move right now, with the added uncertainty.

I think that boat has sailed, unfortunately.

Agree Martinez would be a good appointment but he has CL to look forward if he keeps his nerve Why leave

Typical Spurs; always hoping something better comes along but never committing, then taking what's left because they took too long! There doesn't seem to be a cohesive plan to their decision making, it's just a cluster fuck.

Think you need to look at the table. Unless Arse balls it up they havent got CL football.
And if Man U sort themselves out, Arsenal spend big and Liverpool win the league that will just leave Chelsea and Man City to get around for a top four finish in the immediate future.
Finishing top four now to clubs like us and Everton is going to take a massive nose dive by 2 of those while we get our act together at the same time.
Easy, easy, easy lol.
Then again if arse do slip up, wenger gets the sack and Moyes gets the job lol.

Nothing much has changed.
Van Gaal always wanted Man U first, Tottenham second. For understandable reasons.
Anyone who thinks he already has the United job should lump on at about evens. Until that is a done deal he remains a possibility for Tottenham - which is why he remains one of the favourites.

Can't see him turning down the Spurs offer until he has been offered the Man U role. As for Martinez I'm sure he is one of many managers who now see the Spurs managers post as a poisoned chalice. For a manager looking to get a chance to make his mark, Everton would have been he favoured choice for the majority.

I said weeks ago it was never going to happen. At 62 he ain't going to want to fuck around at Spurs when the Glaziers will just throw the odd two hundred million his way. That said i read an SI report on the downside of the man that is LVG. I kept the link from Twitter and will post it tonight. Interesting read and i truly think we have dodged a bullet here.
